When I Listen, He Speaks

There are a couple of songs I’ve been listening to on repeat the past few weeks, and while listening to them the other day, I decided to write down a few thoughts going through my head. It’s amazing the thoughts God gives you if you surrender to Him and truly just let Him speak to you. Feel free to add your thoughts at the bottom as well.

Be Thou Exalted by New Life Worship

Your Great Name by Natalie Grant

i believe –

…that you should always leave loved ones with loving words, it may be the last time you get to see or talk to them.

…that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

…that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

…that you are responsible for what you do, no matter how you feel.

…that regardless of what is going on around you, today was not guaranteed but God granted you breath this morning to wake, be thankful.

…that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something completely different.

…that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world does not stop for your grief.

…that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

…that it’ll take you a long time to become the person you want to be in life.

…that either you control your attitude or it controls you.

…that there is a God whose breath is taken away by your beauty and strength.

…that you can keep going long after you think you can’t.

…that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

…that God is transforming you each and every day through every situation (good or bad) you encounter.

…that you don’t have to change friends if you understand that friends change. Remember that!

…that just because two people argue doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue doesn’t mean they do.

…that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

…that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

…that sometimes walking away takes more strength than staying and fighting.

…that credentials on the walls do not make you a decent human being.

…that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

…that you must keep praying for the ones you love, no matter how far away they seem (God is capable of turning around any heart)!

…that your background and circumstances may have influenced who you are, but you are responsible for who you become because of them.

…that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret; it could change your life forever.

…that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don’t  know you or by people you don’t even know.

…that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.

…that your best friend and you can do anything or nothing and you will always have the best times.

…that heroes do what has to be done, when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

…that true happiness comes from deep within and can last a lifetime, if you let it.

…that sometimes when you’re angry you may have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give you the right to be cruel.

…that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must learn to forgive them for that, even if you think you can’t.

…that, most of all, there is a God who loves you MORE THAN anything else in this entire world. He GAVE you His ONLY Son so you might be made whole once again!
