Tea-riffic Teacher Gift

Another school year is upon us, which means another teacher gift is needed. For those of you that are new to the blog, let me give a little explanation. Every year before the first day of school, my mom would put together, with my brother and mine’s help, a teacher gift for our teachers that year. As I was about to start my first year of college, I just felt there was something missing…a teacher gift. I recreated some of the gifts my mom had made with some of my own flare (Teacher Survival Kit and S’more Pick-Me-Ups) and plan on creating some of my own, like this one.

Going into this year, I wanted to make the gift even more special because it is my last semester of college before my student teaching experience. I decided I wanted an inspirational quote of some sort, but I also wanted to include a little something for the teachers. I was able to add a “hidden message” within the quote to add a little more emphasis on the value of the teachers I have had and do have this semester.

So, without further ado, here is this year’s teacher gift. Oh and

Birthday Giveaway

On August 2nd, so 3 days from now, I will officially turn 26. YAY!! In honor of my birthday, I wanted to give something away. I settled on something I use A LOT around our household…my apron (well, actually it will be a custom apron for you, but anyways).

About a year ago, I started to look for an apron that would work for me in the kitchen. Of course, I wanted something functional, but I also wanted something cute. After far too much time and no results, I decided to just design one. Here’s what it looks like on me:

NOTE: The puppies are not included :)

Our Second Wedding Anniversary

Four days from now, Jordan and I will celebrate our Second Wedding Anniversary, and our third year of being together. As I look back and reminisce over the last couple of years, I am reminded of some special moments I will forever hold dear to my heart.

First, I specifically remember having a heart-to-heart with my amazing pastor, whom I am fortunate enough to call friend. We were chatting about my desire to find the man I would spend the rest of my life alongside. There is much to the conversation, but the part etched in my mind and on my heart the most is a quote he shared by Maya Angelou.

“A woman’s heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”

– Maya Angelou

For the next few years, God and I would wrestle over this quote and my eyes would be open to how AMAZING He is and how He will FOREVER keep His promises to us. I realized I needed to be seeking God’s heart and God’s way instead of trying to figure out my plans for my life. The man HE wanted in my life forever was perfect in His mind, but He needed to put my heart (and his heart) in the right place first.

Monthly Meal Calendar

In many of my posts, I mention myself or the hubby wanting to put something on our monthly meal calendar. I’ve received some inquiries on this, so I thought I would write a quite post about it.

Every month, I plan out the meals for the month for our household. Right around this time of the month (the last week), I start planning the next month’s meals. I typically plan for 5 meals a week and then 2 days of leftovers. With this plan, we have enough meals made for dinner every night as well as us having lunch every day.
